Allowing downloads from site

I want to be able to offer visitors to my site the ability to download a news letter in pdf.
Some newsletters would be free, others I would want them to be purchased using Paypal.
I normally use Frontpage.
Can anyone give me any suggestions or help, or direct me to a source.

OK. Free downloads are easy (to an extent). Just upload your pdf to your server and put a link to it, and depending on the persons browser they can download and read it.

To pay for it complicates things. There are two ways to do this. The first (which is not very professional, but is easier) is to password protect a directory and someone pays you through paypal and you then give them the password. The second method is using an ecommerce solution, if you can't write it yourself. With something like http://www.actinic.co.uk/ you pay quite a bit, but it is easy to use and if you are getting a lot of money back, cost doesn't matter. The only problem is that these companies take commission and therefore you lose some of your money. Do a bit of research and then choose: this is not something you want to rush into.
