Advice Needed, Please

Hello,

I need the advice of experts. If you were to hire a web designer to work for your company what qualities would you look for? I would like someone who can present great end products which would be websites and templates, flexible in their thinking, experienced and up to date on current trends etc in the industry, someone that can complete work in a timely fashion and someone that would like to build a very long term relationship with our company.

What other qualities should I look for in a web designer?

I think you described a few good key points already (current, good end products, creative).

Personally I would look at their past projects and the role they had. I would also see XHTML/CSS development and any other languages related to development as a huge plus as well as check into their communication/organizational skills.
