Ad-Lib style web pages.

I wanted to do something that is similar to the old ad-libs fill-in-the-blank kind of stories. You guys know what I am talking about?

Basically...what I am wanting to do...is take html text input boxes and then assign those inputs to a written story with pre-defined "blanks" in it on another page. (Did that make any sense?)

I can make an html form for the text inputs, no problem...but I am new to scripting. Would this be a thing to use Javascript for or more of a PHP thing?

I am a pro html/css guy but new to scripting...well underway with Javascript...no PHP yet.

Can someone point me in the write direction of how to get started with this? Which language and maybe a little insight to the process. Appreciate it!
