Forum is for that purpose only.
Actually 'Forums' are for the
free exchange of ideas between peers and like-minded individuals, and for discussions around those ideas.
Forums are the public equivalent of what 'peer review' is for scientific ideas, postulations and hypotheses.
So; In keeping with the methods of 'peer review', no one, absolutely
no one should be held up as the undoubted expert in whatever field, topic or proposal is being discussed, and
no one is
above being shown to be incorrect. This is where the "SEO practitioner field" has got it so wrong over the years. In common with religion, SEO treats ancient 'books' as sacred or sacrosanct, ancient ideas and assertions as immutable and search engines as eternal, unchanging and immortal, and some people are considered to be 'prophets'.
I frequently label myself as an "SEO Atheist" (too late I already own the .com

) because [just like I do not believe in ANY religion and discount ALL 'gods' as unbelievable] I do not believe in the "Google gods" exist either. So I treat the "SEO Prophets" pronouncements with disrespect and disdain and ignore everything they state until I can verify or falsify that claim with real evidence. ....
... ...
And YOU should do the same!!
Do NOT implicitly or explicitly trust me, as I might be wrong. My advice and articles are based on
my observations for the websites I have worked on, and your sample ranges
WILL be different, just like it is for EVERY other SEO practitioner anywhere and everywhere in the world.
No two URLs are the same, and what 'works' on one probably will not have the same effect on another.
Thirdly; and this is an
ABSOLUTE, OBJECTIVE FACT, search engines do NOT rank 'sites', they display
individual URLs, (pages), in their results so I can guarantee that almost EVERY 'link building' advice and 'article' you have read is factually incorrect.
This means that it is quite probably that
ALL of your current 'link building' efforts are
UTTERLY USELESS for the pages that you
really want visitors to reach.
