project planning tool

Currently we use basecamp and a google docs spreadsheet to plan and mange a project - we draw up a set of tasks with start date and finish date and put on google spreadsheet. usually something like:
Design briefing 24/02/2015 - 5/03/2015
Mockups 7/03/2015 - 15/03/2015
Feedback 16/03/2015 - 23/03/15
Development 25/03/2015 - 25/04/2015
Testing 26/04/2015 - 5/04/2015

etc.

What usually happens is the dates change either due to us or the client taking longer over something - getting feedback can be like drawing blood sometimes...

I'm not really happy with the tools so anybody have anything better they use for the project plan which has the following features?
  • Can you show start date and finish date for task
  • Can show who is responsible
  • Can you show progress
  • can allow amendments and show history
  • can allow collaboration
  • is available online
  • is easy to set up and amend

Cheers,

do they still have the classic basecamp? that was actually good. then they went crazy and made the new fancy one without the time tracking :( I gave up after that.

Try out streamtime, it's pretty comprehensive.

Have used it. when I was at the design agency I used to work at we used it for all our projects. and time tracking, and job scheduling for the whole studio. it spits out some pretty good reports too.
