Really? So, you are telling me that from looking at both sites you can't tell that they are for a dog breeding/training business? Wow, I guess your vast knowledge in computers and web design left no room for social skills. I must apologize because unlike you, I have to start from the beginning in web design and was not born bearing that particular skill set.
When I "review" pages whether they are, PPC landing pages, 'home' pages, pages located from search or whatever, I do so as a 'real' person would, so I have to decide what the page is about in under
TEN seconds, if I have to read for longer than that to see if it what I hope it is, your site has lost me as a possible conversion.
Visitors can judge a document's suitability in two or three seconds, you either have to catch their attention in that time or you could lose them forever.
Search [engine] 'friendly' isn't about the mechanics of a web document, it is a holistic view of the overall effect when a real visitor first lands on that URL
Someone comes to this site looking for a little help and Web Design Jesus gets all high and mighty. Go ahead, play the role on the internet, cause I know for a fact that if push came to shove in real life you would have nothing to say, just avoid eye contact, pull your shirt down over your belly, turn and walk away.
Twenty years of being involved in search marketing and web development has given me the experience to play that role in real life as well, (although the bit about the shirt is true these days).
Now that I have said all this I half expect something to go wrong with my sites, cause thats how you work right? Hack in and **** shit up so you aren't face to face with someone.
No your websites simply are not "well known" enough to make them a target for cyber vandals.
But you should remove the default themes (Twenty Ten, Eleven, etc.) from your server they are now being targeted as attack vectors because people think that they are 'harmless', unfortunately the "weak" permissions applied to them by default makes them vulnerable.
Anyway thanks for all your "help." If you need any advice on dog training I would be happy to walk you through it, step by step from the begining, without making you feel like a retard.
So you probably won't be needing a fact finding tour of why your chosen theme, as 'kewl' as it maybe, doesn't really make the site "Search friendly".
My seemingly "snarky" comments have one purpose, and that is to make
you, and anybody else reading this thread to stop: And consider that maybe, just maybe all is not hunky-dory with installing a Wordpress "plugin" that instantly makes the document URLs
irresistible for search engines and they WILL promptly propel the URLs to the top of the rankings for ever and for everyone.
