Help?! I will pay somebody!

Hi, I haven't posted in a while, but I have 4 wp sites hosted with bluhost. My sites have slowed to a crawl despite optimizing what I can with plugins, ect. Anything too involved with code I'm not sure about.

Here's my prob. I moved over to wpengine, and am having trouble completing the migration. Not sure if this was a good idea or not. They have virtually no cust. service. Bluehost as awesome service, however the servers are a wreck. They are having massive problems. For now I'm going to move forward with wpengine since I have already paid for it. I successfully exported the files. Their directions don't specify how to import into multiple domains within one installation. So I got one db file imported, but if I try to import the others, it will force me to drop what what I just imported. Anyway, I am stuck and don't understand anything about migration. Is there anyone familiar with wpengine hosting that could migrate for me? If so, please let me know how much. I could paypal you. I could dropbox or ftp the files. I need to get this going. Think it would only take someone who's handy at this a few minutes. http://support.wpengine.com/migration-process/

Here are my sites. www.proudfleshhorsetreatment.com, www.pfwondersalve.com, www.proudfleshinhorses.com, www.woundcareforhorses.com

'plugins' do not 'optimise' for YOU, you have to know what to do beforehand.

They are having massive problems
That's because they massively oversell to the lowest commomn denominator.

Why are you not running a single hosting account with WordPress installed in Multi Site mode?

WordPress is not particularly difficult to migrate to a new server or a new hostname (domain) if you know where to look and change the details. if you have PHPMyadmin access, and there are several 'plugins' to assist the backup and move process.

http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-move/ is one.

What access do you have at wpengine and how are the sites setup?

Sorry, I don't understand this??? "Why are you not running a single hosting account with WordPress installed in Multi Site mode?" This is what I'm trying to do (I think).

This is what I'm trying to do with WP Engine, as I can only afford one account @ 29 per month. I have one account with bluehost, but 4 domains.

I have to have w totally separate sites. One to sell product only. The others sites are for information. I can't get into it all, but it has to do with bureaucracy/approvals. This is why I had to change to the name of my business from resolve wound. So now, my rankings are really high thanks to the keyword domains, and other things I've done. Soon as my rankings got high the speed slowed. I don't mind paying a good bit more with bluehost for better service, but everyone raved about WP Engine. I figured out how to install a domain and import the db, but I got stumped because the domain may not exceed 14 characters, so I may not even be able to move them.

I'm confused... why can't you use the word/term 'wound'?

I figured out how to install a domain and import the db, but I got stumped because the domain may not exceed 14 characters, so I may not even be able to move them.

Isn't pfwondersalve only 13 characters?

fed. approval....OTC drug.
Yes, pf site is ok, but I have 4 domains, and they are keyword-search-result rich. That's how people land on my site, it has the information, then when they buy, they go to PF site and buy a membership to private horse care club which comes w/ free gift. ;)...it's really too long to go into, but trust me, I found out way more than I wanted to know. Long story short, OTC drugs have to go thru lots of process, so thats why certain words cannot be used in site or product. Even horse products are considered OTC drug based on how it's worded.

Yes, the only way people find my product is thru a search. No way around it. Fortunately when they search for anything having to do with what my product does for horses, my sites are on the first page, if not right at the top. I have no complaints about being found that way. My domains, and H1 titles do the advertising for me. I don't even have to use google adwords anymore since the change. I'm willing to pay a up to $50 a month to have a host that will work. Bluehost did fine before, but those days are over. I'm trying site 5. I will def. stick with the smaller companies from now on. Also, they are migrating for me tonight.

Thank you blackslate. Once I get the migration complete with site 5, if the speed is not up to par, I will contact you. There are only two low grades on my yslow that I cannot resolve without help, so I will contact you privately to see what you'd charge to make these specific adjustments. I'm not comfortable editing back end files.

Errmm nooo probably not.

You only think they do because that it was you expect, I WILL guarantee that your deductive reasoning IS wrong and there are FAR more 'important' factors at work than keyword domains and heading elements.

Oh, Ok. Well I only came to that conclusion based on keyword domain, titles, and content, something my competition isn't utilizing. I've passed my competition and blogs, and want to keep the momentum going which is why I'm soliciting help. I've already made great progress (I hope :) ) with site 5. It's got to be better than bluehost. You know the saying. You get what you pay for, and I didn't want the results that $6 a month was buying me.

So, regardless how I got there, I have 2/3 elements on yslow that need attention. I am willing to pay for the help.

Oh please! You certainly are in need of help if you are looking at minutiae such as that.

The WHOLE 'speed' thing was Matt Cutts making a comment about Google MIGHT be considering "speed" as a factor, not that they are and it's the most important thing in the world.

Real SEO isn't about focussing on a few 'factors' that the "experts" deem as important, and using silly 'tools' to "optimise" and measure the result. All that formulaic "optimising" IS going to hurt at some point, simply because it leaves a footprint that says "These pages have been SEOed". Add to this that you have five sites that are basically identical and you wonder why search results have taken a nose dive. Search Engines DO NOT WANT to serve the same documents from "different" domains to their users, good content is only good when used ONCE!

What work have you done to get traffic and sales that are NOT from search?

Other than the usual crappy "link building" ideas from junk sources as 'recommended' by "experts"?

Thanks but, the site rankings haven't taken a nose dive. They are at the top. What's taken a nose dive is my hosting service. Thanks for all your help. :/

To answer your question, "What work have you done to get traffic and sales that are NOT from search?" I've done what I do best, and that is heal horses. If you looked at my site case studies, you would see what I've done. What you don't get is I'm not blogger, nor a techie, nor a designer. Computers are not my thing. This is why I'm soliciting help for a fee. Get it?

I don't know, something in your tone makes me think you wish me ill will. Can't put my finger on it. Nothing I've done effects you. Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but you strike me somewhat sour. Maybe go out and get some fresh air. Enjoy the sunshine. :)

Oh, pardon me, this is what you said "you wonder why search results have taken a nose dive." Computers and computer lingo aren't my thing, so let me clarify, I'm at the top of search results. Sorry, I thought that was the same thing as ranking.

I don't have a 'tone' it's simply facts that I'm pointing out to you, I realise people don't actually understand anyone telling them the truth and being blunt about, probably because they are so used to people being "less than honest" just in case it offends somebody

Well I'm one of the few who don't really care, facts are facts.

your tone makes me think you wish me ill will.
How the hell can I bear you "ill will"????

I don't know you, you don't know me. It is a matter of fact posting, you asked why your sites are doing badly despite your "optimising" efforts with "plugins", I am giving you my HONEST opinion on those points.

YOu don't offend me, I'm not a web/blogger/computer guru, so how could that offend me? I'm VERY blunt, too. I like blunt people. I'm just trying to get thru to you, that I don't have a clue what half the stuff you mention means, which is why I'M SEEKING HELP. LOL This is getting crazy. Honestly, I do appreciate your time, but I can't do a fraction of the stuff it takes to be a specialist. Don't have time. In fact, I've got to tend to an injured calf right now. Thanks and good night, Chris. :) The only thing I disagree with you on is my BIGGEST problem is BLUEHOST, and that's a fact. People don't use them, they are having major problems. Bluehost throttles, they go out all the time. Google bluehost and slow and you will see all the people having the same trouble I'm having.

BTW, Chris if it wasn't for you and a couple others raking my yahoo site over the coals when I first came on here, I wouldn't have learned WP, and a nice WP site. So, once again, THANK YOU. I sincerely appreciate all the good/bad feedback I get from this forum. It's extremely HELPFUL!!!!! :)
