My first website

Thanks for all the recommendations. My mom talked with her It services rep, the one that handles all IT related tasks in her office (installing new computers and software ect.). I met him at his office Friday afternoon after school. He had the Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection on his computer...just because he can I guess. But he let me play around with Dreamweaver. I have to say that I didn't really know where to begin. It seemed very complicated...I played around a little bit but eventually just lost interest. I think i need to learn how to build a website first in something simple and then I can concentrate on learning how to use the Dreamweaver software. Trying to learn how to make a website and figure out how to work Dreamweaver is just too much at one time.

But he told me that I can buy a license for the Master Collection for $25 which doesn't make any sense so I probably am going to get it anyway that way I will have Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks and more when I get read to use them. I think for the price it is still a smart buy.

Oh and CaldwellYSR. I also downloaded and tried Aptana Studio and I like it a lot. it is just what I wanted but a lot simpler than Dreamweaver. I just really wanted something that would help me catch my mistakes and typos and also help speed things up and Aptana really does that. I downloaded it off of the University Hotspot while I was there today. I also have a Firefox add-on called "Download Helper" which allows you to download streamed videos. So while I had access to the hot spot, I went there and tried downloading all of those video tutorials you recommended. The first six downloaded no problem...the last six wouldn't for some reason. I'll go back and try again when I need them. This way I can watch them anytime I want with out it taking away from my data limit.

I think it is legal. The University has a license for these programs and they do sells the licenses to employees at a discount price, IT services told my mom initially told my mom that Dreamweaver would be $45 alone but the IT guys usually get an even better discount. I think he is just going to buy it for so I get his IT discount.

well for businesses the standard price for master collection is Full from: US $2599.00 so getting a license for $25 dollars seems unbelievable. why would adobe sell their software at 1% of its retail price (ok, less if it's upgrade)?

also technically as you you don't work for the IT dept. you don't qualify for any discounts.

it would be very nice to get it at that price, i'm sure, but i don't believe it can be legal, so be careful.

I'm glad you liked Aptana Studio! Once you get to know it more you'll have it customized to fit your workflow! :)
