Social Networking CMS

So I have an idea I want to fiddle with in my downtime (by down time I apparently mean 2am while I'm supposed to be sleeping). Anyways I've been looking around online for the past hour or so at different Open Source Social Networking CMS options and I was wondering if anyone here had experience and/or opinions on which is the best and easiest to handle. So far I've kind of narrowed it down to:

  1. Elgg
  2. CommunityEngine <- mostly because a site similar to my idea uses this
  3. Pligg
  4. BuddyPress <- Only because I have quite a bit of experience with WP so I think it would be an easier transition

Any more suggestions for ones I might have missed? Or opinions on the ones listed?

I would recommend BuddyPress, especially if you are farmiliar with WordPress.

I have used it for a couple of projects. The templating and admin is very easy, there also a lot of good plugins if you are looking to expand functionality!
