Why Can't Google Find My Site?

I do not understand why Google cannot find the website I have created. I have created a website for a local restaurant which has 3 domain names:
http://nygrillandbistro.com/
http://nygrillandbistro.ca/
http://nygrill.ca/

In the header, I have used to what I believe to be the appropriate meta tags. When I Google 'NY Grill', my website does not appear. Granted, I understand that Google may believe that 'NY' and 'Grill' are separate terms therefore go searching for restaurants in New York as oppose to where the restaurant resides which is in Canada.

I do not understand why Google cannot find my website? I have created another website in the past (http://rysa.bc.ca/) and I did not even use any meta tags. When I Google up 'rysa', it appears 2nd on Google. What is happening?

Hello icu222much,

Google is fully aware that your site does exist and has indexed it in the past. You can see that by going to Google Search and typing in site:nygrillandbistro.com, that will bring up 1 search result of your domain.

It looks to me like Google has an old version of your site indexed and it has yet to return to get the new version - by the title "NamesPro.ca | Register with Confidence" which is who you registered your domain with.

Also you will not always appear on the first page or anywhere close to it for the keywords you have selected. Google uses different ways to measure if your site should be in the top ranking search results for a selected keyword. One of there tools to measure the usefulness if your site is how many inbound links your site has.

With all that in mind, I would suggest that you take the time to index your site again and check it in a couple weeks to see if anything has changed.

Here is a few links that you allow you to index your site with search engines:

Google Submit URL
Yahoo Submit URL
bing.com Submit URL

Take care,
Zach

Hi, your sites have already been indexed by Google, I just checked them. FYI. Type in: site:http://nygrillandbistro.com/ to verify.

If you want to improve your ranking, you better build more quality links through forum posting, article submission, etc.

Another REAson!

There are some instances why google cant find a site its because the content on the site is all contained within a Flash
presentation.

The Googlebot can't "read" flash -- it just looks like one big
picture. The Googlebot can only read **text**, not **pictures of
words**.

Google is already recognizing your site. However, it sounds like you are used to having higher ranking as far as the search engine output. If that is the case, try using search engine optimization techniques to improve your ranking on the list.

Remember meta data needs to be frequently updated to compete with other sites and their ranking. Some websites update their meta data weekly. And some web designers update it even more frequently than that.
