Which way to put music on site is preferable?

Hi I'm a newbie, well kinda, I used to HTML code back in 2000 and now starting to pick up again.

What is the best way to put on a site? Small 20 second clip, with good sound quality.

Preferably not a player but like a music "on" and "off" for viewer control.

I suppose the first question to ask would be, how well do you need your music content to be protected from people downloading it? Also, do you want the music to continually play while people browse through the pages of your site, or will the music only be played on one page?

Protection is not a major factor. Continuous play through all pages with a music "on" and "off" button on of the corners.
