Hello all, I'm new here, and trying to get started in web design.

My aunt owns a pet grooming company and I made this site for her.

http://shampooch-gahanna.com

Any feedback would be great, thanks.

Edit: Thank you everyone for your help. I have a much better idea of what I should be doing. Hopefully the nee layout shows that. I can't wait to show you how much I improve with my next layout. Thanks to your help.

well i know you're new, but OMFG!

tooooo many colours - if the pooches are multicoloured that's fine but your site hurts my eyes :) background is too saturated,

why that sort of hobbit font? how does that relate to the shanpooing? try googlefonts

either indent OR leave a space in between paragraphs (the first paragraph is never indented either way)

is there a coloured outline on the body text?! lose that dark grey text would be better and reserve colour for links or headings

don't underline text that isnt a link

resize images in a graphics app. not in the html

your images are far too tightly cropped - dog and people need some space - around 10% say of the whole image - around them

the dog top right is nicely cout out but looks a bit pale - the darker tones could do with increasing a little

prices?

email?

to be honest - and to be fair - you've made most if not all the noobie mistakes in the book - but if you started again with a colour scheme and try and restrain yourself a little you could make a good clean site - it can still be colourful but professional too ;)

I knew I had some problems, but your saying to start from scratch instead of fixing what I have already? The colors were chosen for me but I see what you mean, I went a liytle crazy. The font is from googlefonts, i'll look for one that works better withe the subject though.

Pricing is based on the breed of the animal, but i should have the email on there, I thought I had it on there.

When i get home i'll try to correct my newbie mistakes. Thank you for your help.

you might want to address your <head> too, namely title and charset missing

The colors were chosen for me
those colours though are outrageous, chosen for you or not, they are not attractive and don't work on the screen. the colours have to go.

go here and pick a colour scheme that will work.
https://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromacolor

and than be subtle with it...

as for the structure it appears you've gone with some form of framework, but it's overkill really.

for example
HTML:
<div class='row'>
<div class='sixteen columns'>
<img class='top' src='banner.png' style='width:100%;margin-top:-5px;'>
</div>
</div>
really need only be
HTML:
<header>
<img class="logo" src="banner.png">
</header>

Start from scratch. Remove all the shadows for your elements, this website looks like someone in the age of 12 made it.
I strongly suggest you to check out others work first, and than start.

a lot cleaner (ouch bad pun) the spacing in the logo between the 'P' and 'o' is too large

nasty font on the "all broods are welcome" (yes i know it's supposed to say 'breeds' :))

don't use all bold font for text - only use it for emphasise - especially on a white background

pictures are still dark and badly cropped - ask client to take picture with the window behind them next time ;) so the light is shining on the dog and a neutral background (wall, or sheet) is better than a busy background
