That's It? Well I'm pretty Good at Video Editing with Sony Vegas Pro 12! I was wanting to do some Tutorial's on How to use the different features that Vegas Pro has to offer and the easiest way to use them. I noticed a lot of video Tutorials out there aren't really well done! So I know I can get the views and I already have the videos edited and ready to upload (I have around 6 already). But was just curious about the SEO on Youtube. Want to make each Upload a Successful one the first time around! So it's Title/Description/Tags....and some linking involved as well...

When you're thinking up titles, try to think about how someone might search Google for the information you're presenting.

Who cares, the 'editing' and production of "Prometheus" was good, it doesn't mean that the film itself wasn't just self-indulgent garbage.

If your 'film' is any good, meaning the content NOT the technicalities and deals with a subject matter that people WANT to know about, only the initial marketing of it matters.

What YOU have to understand is that search engines don't really care about your opinion of your work, it is how others 'appreciate' it that counts.

Star Trek and Doctor Who have not been popular for fifty years because of the production and editing.

Well I Understand not everyone is working with Sony Vegas Pro 12! These Videos I have made are for people who want to know how to do something within the program itself! Its HOW TO videos. For me it is Content that users of the program will want to know! The only flashy thing in these videos would be my Channel Intro which is only 8 seconds long at the beginning of the videos and the rest is Content which people would like to know. My intial question was advice on youtube's SEO since I have never uploaded videos until now. Do you think making a website on Sony Vegas Pro 12 Tutorials and linking the Videos to youtube would help get more views. not everyone I think uses youtube for searches! I quess i'll just give it a try and see how it all pans out!

Thank You For the Advice!

You could add keywords in the title as mentioned and also a link to your website in the description.

There is a whole host of factors: title, description, tags, comments, ratings etc. If a video is good enough, it'll promote itself. For example, I did little work on Nashville Seo and it promotes itself.

No it wont. That is like saying my website is good enough or my blog is good enough I dont have to promote it. Youtube videos become popular due to people sharing it.

As a YouTube specialist I can tell you that it is all about YouTube SEO and practically nothing about the quality of the video. Just take a look at the top 20 videos on any YouTube search, many of them are simply awful.

Proper YouTube SEO is designed to get your video up where people will actually see it. After they see it then you can get shares, likes, etc. But if it does not place well in the listings no one will see it and no one will watch it.

Here are the basics:
Research and pick your keywords for your video, these keywords should match popular searches on YouTube, not on Google.
Name your video file using your keywords
Upload your video to YouTube
Use your keywords in your title
Use your keywords in your description
Make sure your description is full, YouTube likes longer descriptions
Make sure to link to your site, but put your link in the second sentence in the description, not first thing in the description. The first sentence is what is displayed along with your thumbnail in YouTube search results so that sentence needs to entice people to click on your video.
Put links to your social media at the end of your description, YouTube likes social links
Use lots of tags that match your video content
Make sure that you have a YouTube channel and that you have verified your identity, this will allow you to use a custom thumbnail.
Create a special custom thumbnail with text that tells the YouTube searcher what your video is about. Thumbnails with text are clicked more often than just pictures
Use annotations in your video to link back to your web site
There are several more tricks available and I have a free ebook on how to do that on my blog at georgepeirson . com

For proof, go to YouTube and do a search for "photoshop elements 11 text", that is one of the example searches I used in my ebook, currently almost half of the videos on the first page for that search are mine. I placed several of those videos on the first page right after I uploaded them, no views, no likes, but right to the first page using my techniques. BTW, all of my techniques are YouTube approved but most people simply do not understand or use them.

Given that there is only 260 results for a three word search phrase, .... Probably not that much of a surprise.

Firstly, your video must be informative to attract visitors. Secondly, my own tip, I treat my video url as my own site when building backlinks.

It also recommended to transcribe your videos and upload them and also to invite people to subscribe to your channel.
