SEO is a per URL process, not necessarilly the entire site.

To me SEO is about pages, not about sites. It's a lot more manageable to treat each page as a separate SEO project in terms of keyword research, on-site SEO and backlink building.

The most common problem I see if people trying to get the home page to do all the work. If you use a rule of one or two keyword terms per page, your life will be so much easier and you will get much better results.

Absolutely THE biggest problem. EVERY SINGLE URL on any website should be considered as an entry point or 'home page' if you prefer

If you use a rule of one or two keyword terms per page, your life will be so much easier and you will get much better results.

Actually using one or two key words or phrases for each document makes writing copy and making it readable, more difficult.

if you are writing a product description of fifty or sixty words, then a couple of key words is fine but if the piece is longer than that, you need to be using more "key" words or phrases to avoid the piece being stilted and boring.

The other thing to consider is that search engines use word frequency NOT density, so a key word mentioned twice has doubled it's "importance" in that copy, but used five times is NOT five times as important. There is the law of diminishing returns to consider, which is not a linear progression, it is more of an inverse exponential graph, where your key words can, very quickly go from optimising, to over the top, to key word 'stuffing'. Which, for search engines is spam and to real human beings is "trying too hard" and therefore viewed with some suspicions over what the 'catch' is.

1.) Make sure your website build is clean, and headers focus on keywords you want to be found by, particularly keywords towards your topic, but with lower competition.

2.) Submit your website to business directories, search engines, and online classifieds for linkbacks.

3.) Maintain your website content(keep it fresh/new) and search engines will see that too overtime and give ranking to such.

Thats just the basics of how to get started with your SEO. Theres alot of articles on SEO topics out there just search

I'm not good in SEO. I have my website and I just made some linking directories, article writings that has a keywords, and do some social post. Google is making SEO as so much big deal and return they will boost more in benefits as ours too. ^__^
But for me, staying long for years online is already doing also an SEO.

Christ, I have seen lot of your reply from the comments from the previous post, sorry for it . Most of your replies from posters are harsh; sarcastic and feels like an arrogant to read sometimes. Frankly discouraging people instead giving advice, most of them, I know your more experienced than them. But I was also thinking to share your thoughts more and lighten them up or us instead just saying similarly to "Yes or No" and little description of your views. Sometimes it thought me why it didn't grow & still have 9,276 people cause probably they didn't thought to come back already to post interested topics that can attract people and future posters. . There are also three people here I have notice too and most of them are just only giving replies. I hope people and the rest members can reply a polite way and a good maner in the future. I love this forum and I love to see members are growing, I want to support this & invite people designers/developers to post here. And I just notice there are only 4 members are active here when replying the newly created threads. Christ sorry, just only my friendly concern christ.

It's not "arrogance", it is because I AM confident about what I am saying, and I am most heartily fed up with people repeating the same garbage 'advice' that was completely wrong in 1998 never mind today.

Google give advice because they want people to stop trying to find stupid tricks and simply work WITH them, but they do not make a "big deal" out of it.

And "people" make a "big deal" out of it and make it sound like wizardry or witchcraft because they don't want you to realise just how easy true SEO really is just in case you DON'T buy into their drivel and DON'T buy the useless "SEO toolkit" they offer as the secret to success.

And I just notice there are only 4 members are active here when replying the newly created threads. Christ sorry, just only my friendly concern christ.

Every single Webmaster forum on the Internet took a rather dramatic 'nosedive' in late 2011 / early 2012, I don't think I can be held responsible for them all.

Because that is NOT SEO, it is the formulaic drivel that the "experts" have been piffling on about for over 15 years. It was useless then and is even more useless to day.

And if you read many of the replies I have made here you WILL find I HAVE said the same thing many, many times. So to be honest if you have taken no notice and failed to even try to change the way you approach Search, ten sorry you have not earned the right to feign affront when you get told it directly.

You can also read it at High Rankings Forum where the same good information about real SEO has been disseminated since 2003.
You along with so many others have simply been reading the wrong places and are indoctrinated into the "dark side" where Google is the only way to get converting traffic and "rankings", "links" and specific 'key' words are all that matter. Well! That kind of approach sort of worked last century but it "don't work no more"

I'm not sure of this, probably you can just say that's it's not arrogance, cause your the one who said. But for the people that has only politly way to ask. You can just simply correct them that even them can understand it correctly in a ways of this and that. And through of your replies, people might think that you are wrong, you are trying to be as an expert. Reason why people keeps posting in a wrong information.

Yeah, just like what i have said, you have just made a sarcastic (trying to be) replies that people won't see you that your informations are true.
I think the Thread starter aim this thread is to update on what's the latest in SEO and how did they work out. There are could be possibilities that they are looking more better ways or the latest about SEO, Thread starter might asking more latest informations. The post from late 2008 backward are outdated as there are more broad ways about black & the white. And also, who wants to look search an old threads? Unless you want to see the forum with an old threads especially posters got a wrong information & indoctrine in SEO.

You can help find them the old thread as many people are not aware about the old post. You know, most Thread starter are "newbies". Old Thread can't be easily search unless they scanned it one by one. Instead posting some harsh confident answers, why not help them enlighten and share some links that you have something to share off. They are also part of the community.

This just a friendly concern, I hope you won't interpret it as arguing or anything negative.
This is very nice sources about Web Design and development. I was expecting people here are healthy and has a good respect on every each professions.

The thing you seem to be missing, is that this, is a forum, not a "one on one" tutorial, it's not the 'job' of anyone to give EVERY SINGLE PERSON a carefully tuned answer to whatever question they ask. Almost EVERY possible question has been asked and answered so it behoves the 'newbies' to spend more than the time it takes to register in doing a little research so the people who they EXPECT to get help from do not get hacked off by some lazy oik asking the same inane question for the one hundredth time because they haven't bothered to look first.

The ONLY way to learn ANYTHING is to read EVERYTHING and TEST IT, I do not have all the answers and neither does anyone else, When I tell people they are wrong I hope they ARE going to try and find out WHY I think they are wrong and NOT wait for me to hold their hand and walk them through it.

This ISN'T primary/junior school (grade school for the merry cans) where 'teacher' tells you everything and you have to remember it, this is college where you get given assignments to research and understand, then your tutor, who has heard every lame excuse in the book gets to quantify your research and tell you whether you passed or failed.

Okay, what is it that you don't get about 'discuss'.

The word means "talk about" or "exchange ideas", how does that become "Explain everything in one paragraph"?

Discussion means the questioner has to participate in the discussion by further clarifying their question and/or requesting clarification of the points raised in the reply.

If I assert that the premise the other person is working from is wrong, discussion involves the questioner retorting with "Explain why you think I'm wrong" [or words to that effect] NOT flouncing off in a "girly huff" because I didn't say "Oh doesn't your hair look nice" which of course implies that it looks a complete mess the rest of the time.

Discussion involves a minimum of TWO people with differing or dissimilar opinions and viewpoints then, having a "to and fro" with each person offering alternative but salient points on the topic. The end result of this is that BOTH parties take the best of both standpoints with them. Deity knows, I TRY to get people to ask WHY but every one is so damned "wimpy" these days, they would rather go off and sulk (Mummy, Mummy Chris said I was wrong ) than actually challenge the assertion or predicate that opposes their view.

For deity's sake ... GROW SOME BALLS and challenge the point. It's not "aggressive" or "arrogant" it's how the world learns.

Where would we be now if Galileo hadn't challenged the views held, and asserted by "The Church of Rome" and proved them to be wrong??

But I also wish you will interact people in a nice way even they have mislead reviewing the existing topic that was discuss years ago. Mate! If somebody wants to pay me for answering the same questions over and over again, .. Fine.

Until then, I choose how to waste my free time and if people are too lazy to do basic research, ... ... THAT is their problem.

If I can tell that someone has done more than search Google for "HTML/CSS forum" I WILL give real help, but if they expect me to explain the ins and outs without them understanding the basics they are out of luck.

The world's largest repository of information is at their behest without even leaving the house, so there is no excuse for not knowing any more.
