RSS is Dead, Long Live RSS

On July 1st, 2013, Google shuttered its popular RSS reader, Google Reader, for good.

RSS is a standardized, XML-based, format that allows content publishers to post content once for viewing in multiple applications. RSS stands for RDF site summary but its more common interpretation is Really Simple Syndication, because at it's core, that's what RSS is. It's the easiest way to syndicate your content (text, images, audio, video, etc.) across the web for use in various websites, apps, and even some alarm clocks.

Oh and of course it WAS A MONTH ago that it actually closed (June 1st NOT July 1st) so your "social bookmarking link drop" is rather belated.

anything that's actually constructive you can offer is greatly appreciated. Why so negative all the time?

Why are you link dropping an article about something that happened TWO MONTHS ago??

It's hardly news to anyone who used Google Reader and of absolutely no use to anyone thinking of starting!

Truth be told, HW. Your posts have been pretty spammy of late. If you want people to provide constructive comments, perhaps you should too.
