Hi there

I have a number of domains that all point to the same server

ie

www.octopus.com
octopus.com
octopus.co.uk
octopus.org

etc etc

How do i tell apache that they all point to the same directory?

The quick answer is to add them all as virtual hosts that share the same root directory. However:

Using what control panel?
Shared hosting?
Dedicated box?
Virtual Machine (VPS)?
Reseller account?
Linux Apache?
Windows & IIS?
Windows & Apache?
and so on.

To make sure you aren't being penalised for duplicate content by Google at al you should use a 301 permanent redirect from all but one of them to the remaining one.

Try narrowing your list of options by looking at the cheapest web host package that can meet your needs at the same time. Do not compromise what had been planned about for the web site just to meet the level of what can just be offered with the cheap web hosting package.
