Placing an image/text on a transparent surface.

Hello Friends, can anyone help me out on how to make the lower portion of an image/text reflect below the original.
Like a person standing on a marble floor that makes his original image reflect.
Thanks,
Golden Waters.

In Photoshop, i suggest Layer Masks.

  1. Open Image
  2. Drag image over new layer icon at bottom of layers palette
  3. This will Duplicate layer
  4. Go to Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical
  5. This will invert your duplicated image
  6. On this same layer, click third icon from left on bottom of layers palette
  7. This will add a layer mask to the duplicate layer
  8. Select the gradient tool (G)
  9. Be sure the layer mask is selected (there will be an outline on the four corners, and the color choice will be black and white)
  10. Be sure black is the foreground color
  11. Hold shift and drag upward though 1/2 - 2/3 of the inverted layer
  12. You will see it mask out part of the image
  13. Repeat and adjust as you see fit

Note: you can also use the Brush tool (B) for more detail touches. Flip the colors and add white back where you want more of the image visible. If you dislike the final result, simply fill the mask white and start over. There is no loss to the image. Have fun!
