Photographi Rights

The organization I work for uses comps of stock photography for some of their in-house work. I'm concerned about the legal right to use the same comps for web designs I create to mirror the printed graphics material. What (or where can I find good resources) are the guidelines for choosing/finding and using photography. Is it the same as for printed work? Thanks!

hmmmm... don't quote me but i think it will depend on how they acquired them and what rights they purchased from the stock photography company. Some companies set pricing according to use because of the limitations of that particular use. Other companies will contract for single usage as well. You might try asking those companies what rights came with the purchase. If it's purchased on cds you may have royalty free usage as long as it's linked to the company you work for.
