Online Design Tool applet

Hi,

I am new to flash but not so much dreamweaver. I am basically trying to design an application made via flash that allows my customers to design or upload their own artwork using an online design applet.
I have found a site that is simliar to what I am looking to do.

first go to: http://www.make-a-sign.co.uk
then click 'Vinyl Signs' on the top left
then 'Design your own'
then click on 'click here to Start Designing' to load the applet that is simliar to the one I want to create.
then type in a random size amount, then click 'Start Designing.

How would I go about making something like this with-in flash, please note is has various different options within the application.

Sorry my lack of knowledge here. I thought 'Applet' meant application with-in a website. As the example shows the design tool is made in flash (I found this out by right clicking)
I just need to know how I would go about designing this in flash. or am I aiming too high, for example if I do learn flash then I find out that it's one the hardest things to do, then I have wasted a lot of time.

Hi, I'm the developer of the designer you mentioned from flashonlinedesigners.com. To be honest, these sort of applications are at a more complex level than somebody new to flash would be able to complete. When I started using flash (after years experience in other programming languages) it was a couple years before my actionscript was at the required level. You will also need to learn a server side language such as PHP, ASP.net or coldfusion because there are many processes these sort of designers need to do that can only be done on the server. If you are determined to try your hand at creating one of these take small achievable steps towards it rather than expecting to get it all done quickly.

Hi thanks for your reply. That's great that we came into contact. I was beginning to think it would be harder than expected (designing in flash). How much would you charge for something similar to your business card designer, it would be for vehicle graphics / magnets etc.
