Newbie programing question

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to web programing but learning quickly

I am using joomla 1.5.7 to run my site and now i want to add a feature but i'm not sure how to go about it.

I need to add a section where users can add info about something and then rate that item. All user would be able to vote and then see the results of that rating. Also, i would need to link forum posts about that product to its info page.

Does Joomla have module that could do this already or will i have to code this by hand?

you have to look through joomla script sites. No one will hold your hand on this process sadly, so i recommend google. As for rating scripts ... they are out there ... just have to look.
