Mandatory Templates on Multiple Page Site?

Is it nessecary to create templates to make a mulitple page site? I am working on a site that has muiltple pages but I never created a template. So far so good, but I might make a few changes to the site soon, and maybe add pages. Should I have created templates, or just creating new pages using photoshop and imageready ok? I have not run across any problems yet, but I feel I will in the future. Please help me out guys....Thank you all in advance...

no, it's not necessary to "create templates." Templates are something you buy from a template farm and basically consist of 1-5 html pages and the graphics used to make the layout.

Yes, i know there are options in the high end html editors for making "templates" but I've never seen the need for saving anything like that because once used, why would i want to use it again?
