Looking for open-source or commercial code for client site

I need to find some open-source or commercial code/software for a job recruitment database search engine and a back-end database solution. I'm on a project with a short turn-around so if I can avoid having to re-invent the wheel by finding something that's already written that would be huge. We'll be using PHP and MySQL.

If anyone knows of or has what I'm looking for, please send me a link to where I can download and/or purchase some good code.
