image file size?

hello,
What is an optimal file size for a high quality image....
I am working on a page with 6 hi-res PNG files with transparencies... the largest file is about 100K... the others are between 50K-95K... are these files too large iyo?

The thing is you are using PNG for transparency and you are using high quality images, 100KB is OK, it's the maximum. Usually 30KB-50KB it's the range, but with JPG and regular images.

It's only a matter of what for.

Unless you have a really fast server, go with smoovs advice and try to cut them down as much as possible.
