Google .co.uk and .com

Does anyone know why my site appears on google.co.uk but not .com. I have been pushing the key phrase web design staffordshire for over a year now, but it just does register on .com . My web design domain is a .co.uk, but there are other companies who come up on .com who have .co.uk domains. If anyone could help me with this I would be most grateful.

My observation has generally been that the competition is tougher with .com as you can be competing with global sites. But the level of competition is much lower and you have the added advantage of having a co.uk domain when appearing in google.co.uk
Although you may not get a ranking in google.com, you should definitely appear in the google.com index when you use the site: command.

I did a search for "web design staffordshire" on Google.com, and on the first page of the search results I found this.

Maybe I'm confused about what you were asking.

when I just tried it, I did not see it rank anywhere in the top 10 results in google.com
Though a different .co.uk domain did have the number two spot.
