I noticed that your maintenance is usually charged at $50/hr.
despite you giving that for free, its still time, and time is money you could have otherwise been working on a PAID client so count it in the tally.
Domain Name registration (with DNS hosting, even at $40 is still pretty tight)
hosting even at $5 per month is $60
so in all your design work, and whole completion of a site for $49...
I just dont get it.

Presumably he wants to work semi-free for a bit to build up client base - only trouble with that though is the kind of clients he'll attract with that pricing.
I always find it weird in this day and age, when companies offer 5 or ten pages when you can one click install a cms like wordrpess and client can have 5000 pages if they want.
