Explorer version 6 display problems,,,HELP!

I paid a web designer to publish my site and he did. The site layout is all scrambled when viewed with explorer 6 but seems OK when viewed with explorer 7.
This is quite embarassing since I have sent the site details to many potential customers.
Also, I have no details of what was published, should he have sent me some files?
Please help!

Have you approached the designer about this issue, it is not uncommon for this to happen and can usually be rectified ?

The contract you signed with the designer should dictate what you received, but I would imagine you should own the source for the site. Again what has the designer said when you asked them ?

Do you know the scope of the problem ? IE6 is pretty old and I would imagine it has a dwindling user base, there may not be that many people effected by the issue.
