Drawing my site

How important is it for me to have sketches of the various pages of my website when I go to the programmer? I'm currently working on my site and I'm hand drawing the homepage and other important pages.

its important to have your programmer and your designer understand your requirements as designer hands over the design blurbs to the programmer to incorporate it. so have them both understand exactly whats in your mind
