TORONTO – Web designers, developers and entrepreneurs will be gathering in Toronto this October for DesignFest 2005 (http://www.designfest.ca/), a one-day conference for people interested in the technical, creative and business sides of Web design.
“We wanted to create an event that brought together all the different kinds of people who work on the Web to share their insights and new ideas,” said Justin Kozuch, Executive Director of DesignFest. “This event brings together designers, developers, educators and entrepreneurs under one roof.”
The conference offers a wide assortment of more than 25 sessions, with topics such as:
• Using Flash to design games for cell phone users in Japan
• Employment tips and resources for Web designers
• Building an e-commerce Web site
• Starting your own Web design business
The goal of DesignFest 2005 is to hone the technical, creative and skills of Toronto’s new media industry. “This conference was born out of necessity,” said Kozuch. “We’re trying to establish a sense of community among all the talented people working in new media in our city.”
