Client Requirement: Spinning Image

My client is reqesting that I attempt some sort of animation for his site. He has given me roughly 200 still frames that he wants converted into an animation that will be embedded in a webpage.

I doubt a .gif would work for this purpose, what do you think?
Is there a way I could do this in flash?
I could always make an avi of it and embed that, but I'd prefer something that would start to play on load and that I can set to loop.

Does anyone have any avice or ideas? I'm a fairly technical person, and am not afraid of learning something new to make this work.

Well, frame based animation tools like the Flash IDE or ImageReady work on the same principle as a flip book comic, the only real difference is the format of the output (.swf or .gif).
I'd do this in flash - since 200 frames is gonna take a minute or 2 to download, a pre-loader might be a good idea...
