Before submitting your pages to search engines, the most important task is to select the right keywords to get your website in search result. Keywords which will best way describe your site and which will bring visitors to your web page. you should be very careful about choosing right keyword. After you make your own list of keywords, ask your friends to give you their suggestions and feedback. Use a thesaurus or dictionary. Some words may make perfect sense to you but may not to others and vice versa. After you choose them, add plurals of the same keywords. Always try to use keyword phrases so they make sense when they are put together. The key to successful promotion through search engines is to have the right keywords implemented at all the right places on your Web Page.

The best way to choose keywords is to do a little Search engine research. After you do the above, take your words and type them into the search engines, see who gets the top spots, and how well they perform thier seo.

Look for sites with low PR or sites that do not optimize well on page yet are ranking high in search results. This should make your jorney to the top for that keyword much eaiser.

This advice is too mundane. It doesn't even talk about the use/importance of Wordtracker, Google keyword tool and similar tools. Keyword research and selection should also involve competition analysis (you can use SEO Elite for that) in order to come up with a good list of target keywords.

Hello guys!

Thanks for your information and moreover,Find out the keywords that was the highest search volume with the lower competition. With lower competition you've got more chance to be rank more quickly. once you've done it use the key phrases in your title tag, description and meta keywords. Also use your keywords in your content. Make them bold or link them to a page which called same name as phrase.

Only use plurals for most keywords, as not only are plural versions of keywords searched more often by users, but having both non-plural and plural is a waste of resources. Furthermore, keywords should be very specific and used only when they are relatively underutilsed by competitors whilst their monthly search volumes are relatively high (ie high search volumes for the keyword with relatively low competition). The importance is relativity!!

Just keep the keyword punctual, not too long but not too short.
It must be something related to you're site or business you want to
optimized.

How much attention do you guys pay to keyword density?

If you look around the SERP's in your category, you will almost certainly find a wide array of keyword density readings, from mininmal to quite heavy.

It's not that the engines do or don't pay attention to this. They certainly do analyze keywords on the page. The point is that there are no reliable guidelines and that if you make high quality pages with clear, unique titles and META tags and solid on-page content, that you have put yourself into a position to rank for those pages over time, given enough links to your site, etc.

i tend to try and follow a 4-7% density but as you mentioned it's really up for debate. i was really curious of how important the SEO's here would categorize keyword density - i.e. extremely important, somewhat important, of little importance, no importance.

mostly, just curious what others thoughts might be.

Choosing the right keyword is very crucial. We have to find less competitive high traffic keywords. It can save lot of your money and time.

Check on misleading keywords. For example, cat grooming might have a higher search volume but the results are not often related to your seed keyword (e.g. grooming cat) thus, the traffic redirected to your site is not targeted.
