Browser troubles

For no reason at all IE 8 and google chrome wouldn't load properly on my laptop. I upgraded to IE 9 beta. Google chrome was uninstalled, but when I re-install it it still doesn't load.

I had problems with IE9 again so now I'm using firefox. mostly works, but sometimes it doesn't load lol

I've noticed when I go to google and click on a search result I will be taken to some advertising website rather than the one I clicked on. A browser re-direct. Obviously some virus or adware. I ran various anti-virus and adaware but it's still happening...


any advice???

I would suggest running a bunch of anti mal/spy/ad/trojan ware programs. You can find many good, free ones from download.com. Also try grabbing hijack this and post some results.

hijack this, in a nutshell, tells you all programs that are running and have hooks into other programs. Very useful for diagnosing hard-to-find malware.
