a friend told me this one still bugs me.

three guys get a hotel room the room costs 30 dollars the three men split the cost paying 10 dollars each the bellboy helps them up to there room when the bell boy gets back to the front desck the clerk says "i over charged those guys 5 bucks can u bring this up to them?" on the way up to the room the bellboy takes 2 bucks for his troubles and he gives each one of the guys a dollar back.

ok know the math on that. total for the room was thirty bucks right? ok each guy has payed 9 dollars after their refund 3x9 = 27 plus the 2 dollars the bellboy took equels 27+2=29 were did the other dollar go??????

lol.. your math is all wrong. think logically and you will see what that can't work.

the initial cost is 30. so 3x10 is correct. the they receive a refund of 5 bucks. so now the total is 25, not 30!

they each receive 1 dollar back the bellboy steals the other 2. so now you have

([10-1]x3}-2=25
