My new site design (please feedback before launch!)

Thanks for the comments, and thanks for the help ZipTimeTracker! I have another problem now, though. I've attempted to start styling and trying to refine the text, always using Firefox, and now I've broken the site in Internet Explorer and not sure how. :( I may need to hit the books...

    Please review ZipTimeTracker.com

Best I can tell, it works fine and looks good. The text zooms in and out very nicely, and nothing seems to break when it comes to zooming and text resizing, visual and navigation. The site does get squashed up into the middle at high resolutions and everything becomes tiny and difficult in the...

My new site design (please feedback before launch!)

Please test and criticise my site!!! :D I've decided to post for help here now, instead of the "help wanted" section, because it doesn't look like I can get reasonable paid help from anyone unless I fully submit to them and let them take 100% control, for thousands of dollars. Now I've gotten...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

*bump* I'm still interested in getting paid help and technical crticism. Why does nobody wants my monies... :(

    Your favourite website?

Yeah, that's really what I was talking about, something with a bit more substance and not generic mass-user orientated sites we all know already. Something unusual.

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

Well I guess I seemed to have fixed those problems by myself, the content is no longer hiding under the top parts. I will fiddle with the content layout a bit more, but I feel confident about that so I will leave that for some spare time and I'd like to now focus on a menu system, which is...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

I'm still working on this and would like some more feedback and help. http://www.violae.net/_/2/ My major issue at the moment is that I can't get the content layer to sit nicely under the menus and headers at the top of the page. When I zoom in and out, that part of the page becomes hidden...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

Thanks again. I've been able to make a little more progress on it but I think it's up for inspection again already, the way I have placed, fixed and aligned things in the CSS. Still following my previous design with the way I have the header and menu, and ready to hear all about the technical...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

The code you've posted seems to be giving me a blank screen now. :( (works in IE but not Firefox, also takes a long time to refresh, that's not normal)

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

Thanks Phreaddee, I really appeciate your help. I've followed your instructions best I can figure, up for your inspection:- http://www.violae.net/_/2/ (figured out the text wrapping issue)

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

I'm following your advice and reading up on CSS. Seems very powerful and does make frames and tables start to seem useless anyway. Some things I don't understand, so it would be great if it's always explained exactly where bits of code actually go, because sometimes I don't know exactly where...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

That's more like it! :D Now you're being helpful and now I am listening. It's good to think of what you've seen from me as a mockup of what I have in mind. I have a new signature here now because I feel like I need to type it every single post and make it even more apparent what's going on...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

Have already admitted to not being a webdesigner and I understand that frames are bad and I'm going the wrong way because of that. This is precisely why this thread exists here and I offer to pay to get it done correctly. Any practical help would be appreciated, instead of just repeating...

    Webdesigner [paying] help wanted

This was a code-only (no graphics required) paying job involving private help developing a website within a team of people. We would love and really desperately need some help developing, testing and debugging our new site design, and I'm willing to pay someone a modest fee for some personal...

Was interested in looking at the tutorials in your forum, you can never have too many of those, so that might be a good place to begin expanding, although must be registered and logged in to view them.

    Your favourite website?

I'm surprised I didn't find this topic in the last number of pages. Let's keep it interesting and choose ONLY 1, based on these factors:- - Visual loveliness VS loading times/graphics. - Simplicity VS feature richness. - Easy to navigate yet holds many surprises. I guess I'm...

What is your favourite pc video games and why?

Deus Ex, and the Thief games, because I like interesting storylines mixed with interesting enemy AI and open interactive worlds, and those games at the time delivered that to me. I also liked Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I'd like to know which modern games stand as tall as those older titles in...

    Pretty Basic Site, Need Opinions

I think some background gradients and borders could go a long way, to help make the different elements of the site separately in a nicer way, but that's just my personal opinion. If you'd like some free help with the graphics, I would be happy to give it a go.

    2 rough logos

I voted for the original white one. Your avatar is very unique and interesting concept, but struggle to see the H and W and at the same time it looks a little menacing (not friendly enough somehow) and kinda 70s in a way too. Just my personal opinion. :p
