Looks different if you use larger monitor settings such as 1280x800 pix and above (which is standard for 15" monitor). Will be better if you can limit the layout (content) to maximum 1000 pixels wide or whatever you set it up for the first place.

Try to use san serif type face rather than serif and coloring need to match the concept. Layout way too generic and looks like you use some kind of template. Good Luck!

I think the problem is with the color combination that you use. Try some other combination and play with the font a bit more..
