Page won't fully load after back space

If you go to this page, click on one of the buttons at the top, then try to use the back space button on your browser, the previous page does not fully load. There is no fade out (leaving the page) either. I am using jQuery to do the fade out / fade in effect. Any ideas what might be causing this?

    How to hide directory contents

By index file do you mean an index.html? index.html is already being used as my landing pages for my addon domains.

    How to hide directory contents

That worked for my primary domain but not my addon domains. I added this as the very last line of code of the .htacess file in the public_html folder... Options -Indexes I noticed that it also affected the .htaccess file in the www folder. Here's the exact code of the .htaccess file as I...

    How to hide directory contents

Anyone know how you prevent casual web surfers from viewing the contents of a directory? I sometimes come across sites that will display an image that resides inside of a directory, but I you try to go directly to the directory it gives you this error.... This Virtual Directory does not allow...

    SEO question

Do you all think that having a keyword in the root domain is given a slight edge or no edge over an addon domain with the same keyword? For example www.alaskanwidgets.com VS alaskanwidgets.mydomainname.com I'm just wondering how important it really is to buy a domain when it's so easy...

    Tweeking SuperSize

No luck with changing position properties. I tried making #progress-back position: relative; and #progress-bar position: absolute. Then I tried setting both of them to relative and then both to absolute.

    Tweeking SuperSize

Notice down near the bottom and right above the word "home" there is an unwanted grey strip that seems to be joined-at-the-hip so to speak with the progress bar timer (seen higher up). I am trying to get rid of this grey strip. I tried deleting the ID #progress-back. No luck. That also removes...

Flavicon code always flagged by validator

I ran a validation report on tmz.com and it found a ton of errors. It almost seems par for the course to have errors. Let me ask you this... Does having errors or a lot of errors hurt your SEO?

Flavicon code always flagged by validator

http://validator.w3.org/ keeps telling me "document type does not allow element "link" here". The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside...

How Google+ Can Be Your SEO Secret Weapon

I've noticed that a Google+ page itself does not get highly ranked even on Google. Sure it can't hurt to link to other pages. From what I can tell LinkedIn, Facebook, and other sites get immediate SEO preference.

    WIX and SEO

Anyone have any experience using WIX. My first impression is that WIX might not be very highly regarded by search engines. It's free and easy to set up a web page. So how does that make a WIX page relevant? Also how much might you web designers charge someone to set up a WIX site? Obviously...

Importance of keywords in domain, etc

Interesting story from the front lines of SEO LCWS. A little off topic but how important is it to update a page and how often?

Importance of keywords in domain, etc

I read a book on SEO but that book is now about 7 years old. It did mention having keywords in the domain. I've always questioned the value of having keywords in the domain. Another thing that I don't think has much value that was mentioned in this book is having keywords in image properties...

Importance of keywords in domain, etc

I know that what Google and Yahoo "like" is a secret and criteria is constantly changing, but I'd like to know what you all think about the importance of having targeted keywords in your domain name? I've read that this is a factor but do you agree and how important do you think it is? Also...

    Strange problem

That's gotta be it. I will change and give it a shot. I am using Firefox 21.0 on Windows 7 by the way.

    Strange problem

Not sure if this is a coding error on my part or a browser idiosyncrasy. From the landing page if you click "news", sometimes the boarder thickness value around the left menu bars will seem to fail to load properly. Instead of being rather thick it will have tiny little boarders...

Navigation menu items w/ diff colors

Anyone running IE8 is living in the stone age. I also added this styling.... background: linear-gradient(to bottom, #00CC00, #030); Will this suffice for most browsers or is there another line of code that I need to add? This code maybe?... background: -prefix-linear-gradient(to...

Navigation menu items w/ diff colors

Wow! Amazing! It worked! I wish w3schools had more tutorials. I look at their tutorials then when it comes to designing a site I just draw a blank on certain tasks.
