Personal Web design - what do you think?

Hi! http://brodzko.cicolina.org/newbrodzko/stopie I finally solved the menu issue, and using no scripts! Pure CSS animated submenu (I really love CSS3). However, now I'm into another problem. See the browser icons on the bottom of the page? I'd like them to resize like "centered", not...

    Help with Drop-Down Menu

Hey, for now I coded the menu using just CSS hover effects and overflow: hidden;. BUT - it's still not working. I'd love to understand, WHY the hover effect disappears after I move my cursor over the <hr> in the header - when I'm obviously STILL INSIDE the red border? This confuses me a lot -...

    Help with Drop-Down Menu

With nested <ul>s I had the same problem. And the main menu is coded via <dl> because of the 'explanation' in english under the link in my native language :)

    Help with Drop-Down Menu

Hello there, would anyone please have a look at my new website-in-progress http://brodzko.cicolina.org/newbrodzko/home ? I am having troubles with the drop-down menu. Don't get freaky, the inline CSS is used only because of the demonstration and I haven't worked on it too much yet. What...

Personal Web design - what do you think?

Hey, http://brodzko.cicolina.org/newbrodzko/ check it out again, just added "About me" section with some fancy simple (very simple indeed) progress bars, just as "Contact" section! What do you think?

    Creating CMS System

Most of my life? No way! :D I was only hoping for something a little "short-termed" :D I am willing to do some system for my own needs, nothing like WP or Joomla or stuff. Just my CMS. Let's call it "coding training" :)

Personal Web design - what do you think?

Would you be willing to suggest how exactly? :)

Personal Web design - what do you think?

Not really, the icons are coded using CSS sprites, to there's 8 icons in one picture that's positioned on the background of a div. Even this way, the entire picture is about 15kB and All the pictures used on web together are about 75kB large. :) What bothers me by loading, are fonts. They are...

    Creating CMS System

Hi there, does anyone of you have any experience with building your own CMS systems? If so, what "complexity level" was it? Any advices on how to proceed / any literature or links to read? Thanks! :)

    Divs Overlapping???

So they're not overlapping any more :) But please, get ridof that horizontal scrollbar (displays for me), and me be on your place, I'd add also margin-bottom to those divs - to make sure that contact will not be "glued" to the bottom of the screen :)

Personal Web design - what do you think?

Oh sure, thanks. Will have to learn that yet. :) I suppose using widths in responsive design isn't that good, huh? :)

Personal Web design - what do you think?

It's quite possible our countries use different style of quoting, that would be why you find them "backwards" :) But you're right, they're of different font and I was actually thinking about removing them, cause the quotes are the only two characters I unclude the font for - so it's about 100kB...

Personal Web design - what do you think?

Hey! http://brodzko.cicolina.org/newbrodzko/ check it out again, just added some decorative details (pretty funny to implement those pictures under header and above footer :D) and I changed the basic structure of the web a little bit (for those who would read my source) - I had a problem...

What is your opinion on AJAX-based websites?

So you would not recommend to provide page switching using AJAX?

    Old & New website

Yeah, the form looks much better now, yet I'd use a bit of padding to each text field and probably play a little with fonts - but guess that's just a question of one's taste. :) Edit: And I forgot about the button. I quite dislike having regular windows/OS buttons in the middle of beautiful CSS...

What is your opinion on AJAX-based websites?

Hey everyone, I just wanted to put a question: What do you think of AJAX-based websites? Are you into those AJAX-fullfilled webs, or are you an AJAX-hater? (would want to see that :D) What is, in general, your limitation of using AJAX? /reloading pages, switching between pages, forms...

New site launched - need genuine feedback for improvement

Hello! Agreed with most of the objections above, plus - the slideshow isn't working for me for some reason (Chrome 21). Ah, and I quite dislike the above-footer section. I find it a bit messy.

    Old & New website

Hey! My vote goes absolutely to the new one, as I am not a fan of flash pages. The idea, design and coding part itself are just great, though it's true that it literally asks some IE fallbacks, because it's quite boring in IE. Also, I hope you are just kidding with the form design in guestbook :)

Help with red "pho" pattern type background

Nooooo please don't. :D Cancel this, destroy this, never let anyone see it. My first impression was like "WTF, I walked into time machine?!" :D I understand you quite a lot, working with clients who know a s**t about the web and live in 1990's is difficult. But what they want you to do is a...
