    Firefox / Internet Explorer compatability

    I think what Geodun meant was that the :hover psuedo-class applied to elements other than anchors will not work with IE i.e. {img:hover != img a:hover} Try this: img a:link { border: #666666 1px solid; } img a:hover { border: #FFFFFF 1px solid; }

    critique my custom computer shop website

    First, I agree that the design is simply too simple and redundant. I'd try maybe consolidating your site's content into fewer pages for that... Also, fix the delay on your nav- drop-downs are nice, but not when they don't work...

    Why not create a mark separate from the "zycu"? That would make more sense than trying to turn your type into a happy face.

    Question About Uploading Files To Server

    Maybe try a different ftp? Filezilla's a great choice... It has 2 explorer panes, one for your local machine, one for the server. Delete any files in your server's "public_html" folder, then drag & drop your local files. Also, double check the server to make sure the transfer was successful

    Alt tag does not appear when using Mozilla Firefox

    No- not quite. The title & alt attributes are for people using alternative browsers like JAWS, or will be displayed in place of the image if the img doesn't load completely. As far as SEO, the alt tag isn't really weighted anymore - used to be factored, but too many people were keyword...

    How can i accomplich this look?

    To accomplish a page like that, you'll need to create images, write html, work with flash, and possibly a SS scripting language... You'll have to be more specific if you're serious:cool:

    flash banner as background

    You could absolutely position your links over the banner I suppose, but that would be a terrible idea. The best thing to do would be set up your swf to generate links & text from an xml document

    newbie question

    Rounded corners are a pain in the a$$. The best way i've found to apply them is to create a css class for each corner + background + content. For your corners & background images, slice them to a specific size (5-15px is good) in the image editor of your choice. Or even better, create one...

    www.lapointe.mu

    My work computer doesn't have flash (and therefore this site is useless to me!) I'd check out swfobject 2.0 to provide alternate content - this would take care of at least 1 of your 22 validation errors. The site should be coded using xhtml strict, not transitional. Last & certainly not least...
