Hello.
I really want to get some good rankings for my site but I don't have a lot of money. Can I realistically expect to get some decent rankings without hiring a professional SEO to do it for me?

Why cant you give it a try .As google giving less importance to blogs so to increase PR of your blog so you have to delicately and quality link building with regular, unique and consistency in post because Google always sees new in blogs.

Hi,

It all depends on you. If you are enough confident that you do better in SEO so go ahead yourself. Or it would be better to hire any good SEO professional.

of course yes, all you have to do is have a lot of "patience" doing this kind of stuff.

Yes, it's possible for you to optimize your own site and make ir rank to search engines. You just have to learn the basic of seo and after that, everything will be easy. ;)

A professional SEO might have access to a lot of sites that you don't. However, if you are familiar with forums then you might do fine. For example, a professional or forum swavvy webmaster might know a lot of other seos on link exchange threads.

However, you may need a professional even if you are forum swavvy. A professional SEO might have access to a lot of sites that you have no chance of finding.

read seobook.com, seomoz.com or better yet download big oak's 52 seo tips. you can do most of it yourself. plus, if your site is really new (less than a year old) it's gonna be tough to rank for anything other than long tail keywords anyway. i would put in the sweat equity rather than digging into my pocket book, but that's just me.

Trying doesn't cost anything. Download a free software package like SEO Powersuite. Not the best, but gives you an idea of what to look for and how to structure your content and tags a little better. As for websites I find the most information either in forums or seobook.com.

Optimizing your own site is better because you'll be able to monitor the quality of links you're building.
