I redid my website and now it receives little to no traffic

I have a website in a somewhat competitive niche that was getting a little bit of traffic. I replaced the index page with an "under construction" type of page for about a month until the new version was live. Now my website gets no to very little traffic from search engines. I am not working on any kind of link building at the moment, only adding content.

So my question is, how long do you think that it generally takes to start getting traffic again from search engines (Google)?

Assuming this 're-design' involved changing URLs ... ... It takes more than a month for search engines to decide that your 'new' website is worth crawling or not

You should NOT "work on link building" EVER!!

Try these techniques to drive traffic from search engines:
1. Start with keyword research ‘AFTER’ you write
2. Optimize each blog post
3. Spy on your competitors
4. Build quality backlinks to boost your rankings

No. They probably don't know what they are doing either.

Build quality backlinks to boost your rankings
Nope!
'build' and 'quality' in the same sentence as 'backlinks' are mutually exclusive.

1. Start with keyword research ‘AFTER’ you write
You can't "start with" something after the event, though I might agree with what I think you are trying to say, assuming that is;

Do not write posts in order to fit a set of 'key' words in to your content.

Work on the on-page of your website and do alot of social sharing and social media marketing. This can really work out.
