View Full Version : Google Adsense
Well google adsense appears to be the best performing source for advertising revenue at the moment.
Has anyone had any success with any other programs?

lol, that sounds like my kind of budget right there. how did it work out for you?
It was ok I guess.
It was advertising for wmf.
It all depends on the keywords you target though, some can be very expensive. For instance if you were to advertise anything web hosting related, it would cost a lot.

yeah I gathered that, but I'm so lazy when the officers come to me and tell me that my add does not relate to the site, when it clearly does. Maybe when MY "new" site is being launched, I'd most probably "hire" an expert to help me out there

I'm pretty sure google adsense is among the best ways to advertise... but how much does it really cost, because I think that when I see how much it is, i'll just go

A friend of mine suggested overture not long ago. Said she got better results there than with google. It might be worth checking out.

Some terms are more costly and competitive than others, due to their profit potential.

I see, thanks for the info!
I've never had as much results earning money as I have with Google's adsense although the Xara products have come close. They're pretty good.
I've tried advertising on Google Adwords, but then soon realized without close tracking of where people are coming from I just have no idea if it's worth it to keep going. So I'll start again once I have my tracking sorted out properly. :) Adwords can eat your money right up if you're not careful so you really have to have your act together and know what you're doing. Which I don't.

Hey, question for those of you who are/have been members of Google AdSense...
Do they actually manually (ie. via human operator review) approve your site when you sign up for the program, or are all applications pretty much automatically accepted?
Reason I ask is that my main site is currently mostly offline at the moment, but I want to sign up with AdSense in preparation of getting everything back together again. I'd like to avoid a "Sorry, we don't allow sites with no content to apply, please try again when your whole site is complete!" style human rejection of my application.
Thanks.
They do manually review each site and manually approve/reject applications, so dont apply unless your site is ready. Quite a few people with fully developed sites have been rejected if it is not the type of site that they are looking for to publish ads.

I banged together a quick site in under an hour, and was approved for AdSense, so I'm ready to go now! Appreciate you letting me know about the manual approval to save me the trouble of rejection/resubmission!
congrats valeor, hope it is the start of a more successful web career.

Hi Ian!

Nice alternative to AdSence is Mamma Media Solution: http://www.mammamediasolutions.com
They offer all similar services.
Positive thing: you get paid for impressions by many advertizers (extra income especially if you have high traffic site)
Negative thing: ads served not always relative to your content.
As for cheaper PPC advertizing you may try:
Mamma: http://www.mammamediasolutions.com
FindWhat: http://www.findwhat.com/content/advertiser/index.asp
Kanoodle: http://www.kanoodle.com/about/advertise.cool
They will deliver targeted traffic much cheaper than Google or Overture and they all offer bunch of advertizing options.

They will deliver targeted traffic much cheaper than Google or Overture and they all offer bunch of advertizing options.Personally, for PPC traffic, I've always predominantly used GoClick (http://www.goclick.com/), although I also have accounts with Kanoodle (http://www.kanoodle.com/), and Enhance Interactive (http://www.enhance.com) (formerly Ah-Ha.com), but I haven't used those two extensively enough to give any kind of opinion on their quality. And hence, having only really used GoClick to any real degree, I can't really compare/judge its efficiency either, with no real basis for comparison. Suffice to say though, I've never found PPC advertising to offer a worthwhile CPC conversion for my sites, but I don't know if that's the fault of the PPC engine, my sites, or anything in between.
I recall seeing another advertising revenue program like Google AdSense a little while ago, it had a strange name, like 7Clicks or something like that. The site I saw it on was offering click incentives, which is strictly against Google's policies, which I figured must have been why they were using this other company instead of AdSense, because it seemed fairly shoddy and inferior to me. {shrugs}

I have had very little success with others, I also use adsense, but also use refferal signups... I can't gloat about getting anything from those as of yet.
adsense and adwords are the best resouces of extra income.

I have been successfull with quite a few programs. If you really want to make money from the web then just earning from adsense means you are doing it wrong. You should never have all your eggs in one basket and just relying on having your earnings just from Adsense is a little to risky.
CPA networks do well so does some CPM programs so does other programs. How will you perform in each depends on how much you know, how quick you can learn and also how much time you spend on them.
