phpbb forum help. Account activation?

I want to enable the account activation feature on my phpbb forum, i have ticked the box in the configuration page that says 'Enable account activation' but it doen't seem to work. You can still post a message without having to sign in. Am i missing something?

Yes, you are missing a lot. It's under forum management in your admin section. You have to set each forum of your board to member only posting and other specialized settings you might have. For instance, you might have a moderator forum you don't want open to the public... you can set that up plus make it hidden at the same time so that only those who would be allowed access will see it when they are logged in.

You can see your different options in the drop lists for each forum of your board, :-).
