Default download link

Hi all

within my site I want to add a link to download a pdf file. However i do not want this pdf to open in the browser rather it downloads to the user machine, as would happen if you used right click, save target as.

Is there anyway i can set a link to automatically do this?

thanks

alex

I know with the place i use to host anything (pair.com) you can set the MIME types.
There are ones set to do things automatically like hanfdle sound, images and file types but i think if you have the ability to edit this on your server you can tweak from there.
But .zip might be an easier route like said ^^^^ there.
