I'm trying to make my own logo for my site, i'm currently using one from a template.

Here's the original:

And here's what I have so far:

How can I make the center logo look as good as/better than the previous?
I'm willing to start from scratch. Any ideas for what to put there? Any abstract shapes or objects or whatever I can use as a basis for creating the logo?

Thanks,
~toonie

If you use Photoshop you can download some graphics elements here:
http://www.aaronovadia.com/clients/photoshopit/freebies.htm

If you can work with vectors this is the place to visit:
http://www.vecteezy.com/

You're bound to find something at these sites I think.

Speaking personally I would drop the beveled effect on the text.

Thanks suz.

I looked at the web 2.0 stuff and decided to give it a shot. I could still add effects to it, but before i do that, im not sure if the general idea of the logo is okay.

and i'll see what i can do without the bevel.
