probibly a noob question?

ok i a have been out of school for a while and am quit a bit rusty. i need to send a variable to the cgi bin does it do it when i assign a value to a variable? i am trying to develop a way to tie the accounting software to the front end ordering process the accounting software is in cobalt. ok sorry if my question is unclear. thanx in advance.

i'm assuming you are using perl do this, correct? i have book on perl around here somewhere that i bought eons ago, never did take the time to give it a shot though.
