Im completely new to web site design, but i want to learn!

Where is the best place to start designing?
I want to eventuallt be able to design a decent / professional looking web site . . .

step one would be to familiarize yourself with HTML. do a search for something called "selfhtml" on google. it's a free library consisting of just about everything you need to know about HTML.

Ive looked at basic html, and looked into things like frontpage and yahoo sitebuilder and using note pad etc,

Ive had a little play with installing forums etc so i know bits and bobs,

but now i want to get into the actual design of a god website . . .
