made a mess of the server files!

Well, I was trying to revise my website.

I deleted files from the FTP server.

Apparently, I may have deleted too many.

Now the site isn't working at all. It has an FTP upload error showing.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to "re-load" any files?

Uggh...It sounds like you've deleted some system files. The easiest way is to contact your host, tell them what happened, and and ask them to restore the account/system files.
