Okay guys! I'm sure you have at least tried your hands at Adobe PS. Now most of you may or may not have saved your art work using Progressive Rendering {PR} aka Interlacing. Progressive rendering or interlacing help to mask the time delay in downloading larger JPEG and GIF files.

Way back in 1996, I used to layer my webart work by going down to just 2 colors and super-impose the other 96 color work so that the 2 colors dload first before the 96 one. Do you know of any other way to "interlace" your art work so as not to loose the colors/hues or any other methods for PR?

when using the jpeg format, you can dither (sp?) it. shaves off a few pounds from the file size. i remember back when javascript pre-loaders were commen for web sites.

Photoshop's got a pretty neato Save as Web File option which works pretty decently now .... the matte feature comes in handy for smaller logos where colors can be a bit mangled
