WebRings, Good or Bad?

Hi,

I wanted to have your opinions of joining webrings. Did anyone get good traffic from joining a webring?
I would like to join one but don't like having to put their nasty code on my page. Is it worth it?

In my experience, webrings don't nearly bring you enough traffic to justify how it will make your site look. Also I hear some of them may even hurt your chances of getting good search rankings with some engines, although I've never experienced that. I guess it really just depends on the specific site and webring.
