Graphics Tablets

Hi,

I want to know whether Graphics Tablets are a worthwhile investment.
I am an Internet Design Student and am learning about all aspects of web-design from programming (asp,php etc) to graphic design (flash,xara). I like creating high-quality graphics for my web-pages using Xara Xtreme but I want to know from a designer with experience whether a Graphics Tablet would help me design better graphics than with just a mouse.

If anyone uses a Graphics Tablet I'd be grateful to hear their opinion.

wellllllllll.... I can't say a tablet helped me design better graphics but it does give you a little more control over the mouse because it's more sensitive to changes in pressure plus you get the nifty pen for drawing.
