Photoshop alternative

HI.. does anyone knows any good easy to use alternative for photoshop, the website i am building is for a non profit purpose we can not invest much, we are trying to make an image from the heading of the web site....then text as image...

Jasc paintshop pro is much less expensive. TheGimp is free but has a steep learning curve.

Anyway, you may try GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/), it's free!

Yeah, Gimp's almost as good as Photoshop, It's so similar I'm suprised that Adobe hasn't sued them yet. :)
